Oven cleaning sucks!

Since we hosted Thanksgiving, our oven has needed a big cleaning. BJ did a fantastic job of cooking the turkey and it tasted so delish....however the process left our oven a mess! Well, since I am off for the holidays, I decided to clean it. What a pain-in-the-ass job! It took forever and it still looks a little crappy...ugggghhhh. Just had to get that out.....

Anywho, nothing new (of course!) but thought I would share some pics of the fur-babies!

Tully in his "hallo-weiner" shirt...waiting for the trick-or-treaters.

And not to be out done....the cute little Kona-bean!

Kona was WAY too distracted by all the kids ringing the doorbell.

Now before I start getting e-mails...I have not yet gotten any pics from the recent holidays uploaded to the computer. As soon as I do I will post them in the blog. And no it will not be two months before I do that...maybe in the next couple of days!

Happy Holidays!

Wow it has been a long time since I posted anything! I guess since there has not been much news...it gets kind of slow.

Just wanted to say "Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year" to all of our friends and family. Those that we don't get to see all the time...we miss you! This year was a little bittersweet. It is/was probably the last holiday season that we will spend with BJ's family. Not to say that it will never happen again but it will probably be quite awhile before it happens again. Billy and Christine came in from South Carolina and we got to spend some time with them. We always have so much fun with them...constant laughter. If we don't get Washington state then please dear AF let us have Charleston, SC so that we will close to them!

To give some quick updates since the last post....

Our dear friends Elva and Keith were married on November 29. It was a beautiful wedding and I was so honored that they asked me to help out with the ceremony. I was their "day-of wedding coordinater"...basically I made sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be and that the musicians (Elva's very talented cousins!) knew when to change the music. The reception was at this historic train station. It has be redone and includes a hotel (The Radisson). It was such a cool place to have a reception. Brian, Mandy (Brian's girlfriend), Kristen, Brian (Kristen's boyfriend), BJ and myself all stayed at the hotel that night and we had a blast! Alittle bit of debauchery was had by all! Here are some pics from the evening....

Mom and Dad V...gotta love his face! They had a good time too...and this was only 1 1/2 weeks after mom had her partial knee replacement! She did awesome!

We still have not heard anything from the Air Force...hopefully soon...we are both so anxious to find out. But from what we understand, when we find out if BJ is accepted we will also find out where we will be stationed, what class he got into and the date that he must report to his first duty station. So we will go from knowing nothing to having all the details in a matter of days. As soon as we know anything we will be sure to post!

Again love to all....

My new love....Edward!

So I have been reading this series "Twilight". There are four books..."Twilight", "New Moon", "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn". Right now I am on the third one. It is such a great series! It came highly recommended from some online friends. I took their advice and now I am addicted!

This is the movie preview. It comes out on November 21...it looks like it is going to be good. And the best part about the whole thing......it is set in Forks, Washington! I feel like I know exactly what and where the author is talking about. Kind of cool, huh?

If you get a chance to sit a read, I highly recommend these books. But I will warn you that they can suck you in...I read the first two in just 1 week...about 1000 pages total!

An update from the AF recruiter

So BJ spoke with the recruiter (his name is Joe) and he said that all we are waiting on for his completed application is two of the letters of recommendation. So he put the word out and those two should be into Joe by the end of the week! The committee or board will begin the reviewing process at the end of November and we should have the official word of his commissioning by the middle of December. Things are moving along!

So here we are...starting a blog. Who would have thought?

We have so much on the horizon for lives. We figured this would be an easy way to let everyone know what is happening and give all of you updates. Hopefully it works!

As most of you know (and for those that don't!), BJ is joining the AirForce. We are still in the beginning of the process...application is filed. We are waiting to get the official word that he is going to be commissioned...hopefully sometime around the end of November or early December. We know that he will be at least a Captain but possibly a Major...we won't know until the commisioning. After that, the plan is for BJ to start Commisioned Officer Training (COT) in March 2009. He will graduate in April 2009 and we expect to be at our first base by May 2009. We don't know where that will be yet but are hopeful that it will be near (or somewhat near!) family.

Other than that life is normal...dogs are up to no-good, cats are running the house and the two of us are just happy as can be! LOL!!! Actually, we have recently had a little miracle in our lives...our cat Tinsley who had been missing from home since July 2008, finally found his way home! Yep, you just did the math right...that's 3 months! We were shocked that he found his way home and thankful that he is relatively healthy despite being gone that long.

Thanks again for taking some time to read and we will keep you all updated!
