My "landing site is perfect"!

This is a direct quote from Dr. P and Nurse D. I feel so proud! So the whole IVF thing is a definite go. We may get bumped up to March instead of late April/early May. I will be doing backflips if this happens!

Oh and they had to take blood as well...10 vials to be exact. But I would like to point out that I did not shed even one tear. I am such a big girl! If you did not know...I have a huge needle phobia...HUGE! BJ is going to owe me big time for going through all this needle stuff to have a baby. (What he doesn't know is that I would jab 10,000 needles into myself just to have a baby with him. I love him that much!)

Today is the start!

I have my first appointment today with the RE at Fort Bragg! I am so excited and hopeful and positive for this appointment...granted they are going to stick me with needles and torture me in other ways that I just don't want to think about right now at 5:15 am. The drive is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours and I have to go by myself today...boo! The upside is that I may be able to move my dates up from late April to early March. Since BJ and I have had all the testing that is required, we are pretty much ready to go...that is one of my big questions today. That and how many fertilized eggs will they transfer...this kind of freaks both of us out.

So I will try to update while I am there...all depends on the WiFi connection I can get!

I was enlightened today...

I now know why one is pregnant for 9 months and then gives birth to a helpless, lovable little baby. If humans gave birth to a 5 year old...creation would have stopped at 3 people. Adam, Eve and little Adam Jr. I got to spend the day with a 5 year old today! And I get to hang out with him again tomorrow. But I have to say....I am worn out!

I learned today that little boys are full of lots of questions and most of them are "Why?". Which for the record is not easy to answer. When you give them the answer to their first why...they then want to know why you need to do that. And while I swore I would never be that mom that answers back..."Because I said so."...that is what I had to resort to. Although I have to admit that if it was not for his little sponge of a mind...I would have forgotten my cleaning products that I needed at Target! He was really cute when he told me that I forgot to get my cleaning stuff.

But like I said earlier....I am tired. I have a headache. There is a handful of ibuprofen with my name on it. And possibly a glass of wine. Along with a nice hot bath. Is this why all the moms I know REALLY like their wine?

New Year...New Adventures!

So the New Year is here and I am so excited!

Those that don't yet...hold onto your hats!....we are doing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in April! So 2010 is set to be a big year for us. With any luck this time next year, I will be in the final weeks of my pregnancy and ready to meet our baby(babies). The plan is that I will start stims (the medications used to produce multiple eggs) in late April. Probably around the 21st. I will have to go to Fort Bragg for about 2 weeks during the stim time so that they can monitor me and then when I am ready, do the egg retrieval (ER) and the embryo transfer(ET). We are hoping that we will get enough eggs that fertilize to do a multi-embryo transfer and some left for freezing for use in the future. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

BJ and I had a laid back NYE. We went to Meg and Marcos' (some new friends) home and had a great time playing Tripoly (very fun game if you have never played!) and watched the ball drop with Ryan Seacrist and Dick Clark. A fun night and we have plans to hang out again real soon...mmm, enchiladas!

Our Christmas was spent traveling to Pennsylvania and picking up our new-to-us car! (Thanks Mom and Dad V!) It was awesome to see our family and spend some quality time hanging out. BJ's cousin Lynn and her hubby Brett and new baby Logan came up from Maryland and we got to meet Logan for the first time. He is so stinkin' cute! Here are a few pictures from our visit...
